Having been educated as a professional pianist, Gabriel Meiring is very aware that being master of the techniques and knowing every aspect of the subject, are vital steps towards creating true art. He began a long and lonely journey to construct a solid foundation of technical knowledge and craftmanship that defy these superficial times we live in.

This outstanding craftmanship and technical ability form the base, background and as it is, feeding-ground for his vision. Gabriel Meiring with his universal interest, has looked back to the expressions of pure beauty which art has passed on to us through the centuries; not only to Art-Nouveau and Symbolism, but also to the Pre-Raphaelites, the Flemish Primitives, Islamic ornamentation and Oriental caligraphy.

With patience and illumination, this tender viruoso has undergone all these influences and transformed them into a personal aesthetic which fascinates the artistic temperament of man today. Haunted by pure beauty, he has looked with new, purified eyes at the serenity of a face, the fleeting lines of the human figure, the elegance of a gown, the silence of a scenery.
